ZAVA app
Increasing consistency across the doctor profiles in the app
Germany based doctors can partner with the telemedicine provider ZAVA. When a doctor decides to partner with ZAVA, one of the developers has to add their information to the system. As this is not the most efficient use of developer time, we are working on a new onboarding form to enable the doctor management team to add a new doctor to the system themselves.
Take an opportunity when its in front of you
Since the information added to the form is also used to generate the doctor's profile in the ZAVA app, we looked into ways to increase the consistency across the profiles and reduce spelling mistakes.
Opportunity I: Align the spelling of doctor titles
Example of 2 doctor profiles with differently written titles. In both cases the title should be Dr. med.
Solution:
include drop-down list with doctor titles
the name of the doctor patients will see in the app (display name) gets automatically populated based on the entries in the name fields and the title selected
Personal detail fields in the new onboarding form with title drop-down and field, that gets automatically generated.
Opportunity II: Align lengths and style of about section
Example of 2 about sections from different doctors.
Solution:
limit characters to 250 for the about section
create profile guidelines to help the doctor write their profile
Opportunity III: Ensure languages and proficiency are written the same in all profiles
Examples of the language section from 2 different doctor profiles
Solution:
include drop-down list with languages
include drop-down list for proficiency
the first language will always be shown as the first entry
Conclusion & takeaway
The new form is not live yet, but we are confident that it will significantly increase the consistency across the platform while reducing the chance of human mistakes. This initiative is also a great example of how content improvements can be squeezed in as part of a project with a different focus.
